AdvanTex® Textile Filter Technology
The AdvanTex system is built around Orenco's patented packed-bed textile filter, housed in a compact fiberglass pod that installs alongside the septic tank. Inside the pod, sheets of non-woven textile material are stacked in a dense, packed configuration. These textile sheets hold enormous quantities of water and provide a massive surface area — far greater than gravel or plastic media of equivalent volume — for aerobic biofilm to establish and thrive. Because the biofilm is so dense and well-supported by the textile structure, AdvanTex routinely produces effluent quality that approaches or meets reclaimed water standards, making it one of the most capable residential treatment systems available in Arizona.
Packed Bed Treatment Flow and Dosing
Effluent from the septic tank is delivered to the AdvanTex pod in carefully timed micro-doses using an Orenco high-head effluent pump controlled by a Orenco control panel. Micro-dosing is critical — rather than flooding the textile filter with large batches of wastewater, the system distributes small, frequent doses that wet the textile evenly and allow the biofilm adequate time to treat each dose before the next arrives. This prevents channeling, maintains aerobic conditions throughout the filter bed, and ensures the final effluent is consistently polished. The highly treated output is ideal for subsurface drip irrigation drainfields, which are frequently required on Arizona lots with shallow caliche, high groundwater, or setback constraints that prevent conventional drainfield installation. Orenco also offers optional telemetry monitoring, allowing remote tracking of pump cycles and system health — a valuable feature for vacation or rental properties throughout Maricopa and Yavapai counties.
