Singulair® Aerobic Treatment Systems
The Norweco Singulair® is Norweco's flagship aerobic treatment unit and one of the most widely installed alternative septic systems in North America. The Singulair is a single, pre-cast concrete tank divided into three treatment zones: a pretreatment compartment, an aeration chamber, and a final clarification zone equipped with Norweco's proprietary Bio-Kinetic® system. Each zone is engineered to work in sequence, ensuring that wastewater receives thorough biological treatment before discharge. Norweco systems are sized for standard residential flows and are accepted for permitting in Maricopa, Pinal, Yavapai, and most other Arizona counties where alternative treatment is required.
How Norweco Achieves High-Quality Effluent
What sets the Singulair apart is the Bio-Kinetic® final treatment stage. After effluent passes through the aeration chamber — where aerobic bacteria break down BOD and pathogens around the clock — it enters the Bio-Kinetic unit, which acts simultaneously as a hydraulic flow equalizer and a final polishing filter. By slowing and evening out peak flow events, the Bio-Kinetic prevents surges from flushing partially treated effluent through to the drainfield. The system operates on automated 24-hour treatment cycles with energy-saving timed intervals, so the air pump runs only as needed rather than continuously. This quiet, efficient operation keeps energy costs low while producing a consistently high-quality, clear effluent suitable for drainfields in Arizona's most demanding county regulatory environments.
